Ben McGinnes started to learn to play the guitar at 14, after four years of keyboard lessons taught him that it wasn't the instrument for him. Since those heady school days his musical reportoire has grown immeasurably.
Between the ages of 14 and 16 he received tuition from jazz fusion guitarist Winston Morson, until moving on to study music at East Berkshire College. This music course lead to the creation of Ben's first gigging band Face In The Crowd, which he continues to gig with now, touring the UK circuit at various live venues such as Butlins, Centre Parcs, Haven Holidays and many private events.
In addition, Face In The Crowd held one month residencies at a 5-star holiday resort in Eilat, Israel, in both 2008 and 2009 as well as taking on the job of support band for Roy "I wish it could be Christmas every day" Wood.
Ben also plays with function bands Indie-GO! and Party Busters, both which are well-established UK touring bands.
The past few years have lead Ben in the direction of jazz. After receiving private tution from one of the South East's finest jazz guitarists, Hugh Turner, Ben has had the opportunity to play alongside some of the most accomplished musicians in the country, including Frank Tontoh of Osibisa and Amy Winehouse.
Ben is available for both studio recording and live performance, and is experienced in jazz, funk, pop, soul, rock and metal.
